Update
17:00 20/5/10
I've
heard back from Finnature, we should be OK to postpone our reservations
at the 2 centres should we be delayed for 1-2 days, we simply go out 1-2
days later and return 1-2 days later. The latest wind forecasts show SW
winds which are carrying the ash cloud away from Western Europe, so thus
far we should be unaffected.
Update
15:00 17/5/10
As I write the volcano in Iceland Eyjafjallajokull has erupted and ash
is covering parts of the UK, which means flight disruption in the UK.
Below the latest info I have. At the moment everything is still on
and we go as planned on Monday morning at 04:00
Flights- Having
spoken to Finnair today, they will be able to confirm the flights as go/
no go only on Sunday. If the flight is canceled we can either have a refund
or re-book, given we are booked with Finnature, if the flight is canceled,
then I suggest we cancel the trip for a full refund. This depends whether
we will be charged by Finnature. If they want to charge us then I suggest
we go ahead even if we are delayed for a day or two.
Hire Vehicles-
I've contacted our hire car people and if we have to cancel with less
than 48hrs before collection because of the volcano there is £25
charge only.
Finnature-
I've emailed them to see how we proceed if we are delayed or canceled.
Am waiting to hear back from them.
