Gone Birding will, in conjunction with Diana Travel of Romania, run an 5 day tour to the Danube Delta in Romania, taking place in late July/ early August. The flight will leave from Luton airport, directly to Bucharest airport. The holiday starts from £700 with 16 participants, through to £923 for 10 people plus flights, so the more that go the cheaper it will be. There will be 2 staff. One expert local guide, and a Gone Birding guide who will travel out and return with the party.

Boarding our welcoming floating hotel in Tulcea, we start this unforgettable journey into the wild, moving from one hot spot to another. Superb sunrises will delight us in the early mornings, when we'll find ourselves in the most exquisite birding areas of this watery realm. Everyday motor launch trips into narrow wild channels, bird watching expeditions to willow woods and shallow pools shall reward us with special views of Pygmy Cormorant, Little Bittern, Rollers, Spoonbill, Whiskered and Black Terns, Ferruginous Duck, Little Crake, Penduline Tit, Grey-headed & Black Woodpeckers and Red-footed Falcon. From the deck of our floating hotel we'll enjoy spectacular flights & alighting of the largest European breeding population of White Pelicans, to which we add memorable views of the globally threaten Dalmatian Pelican and of the majestic White-tailed Eagle. Delightful walks at our leisure into a couple of traditional villages, seeing how fishermen live and work will be an added cultural attraction to this wonderful cruise. The setting every night will find us on the boat in the middle of the Delta, enjoying excellent fish dishes while watching the spectacle of birds at sunset. A memorable holiday in which we'll gain a fascinating insight into this Europe's paradise!

Day 1 After arriving in Bucharest , the capital city of Romania, in the afternoon, we travel east to the port town of Tulcea, the gateway to the magnificent Danube Delta. Dinner & overnight in Tulcea.

Day 2-4 Danube Delta Cruise.

Day 5 Transfer to Bucharest. Departure.
